ShoEi Food Safety and Quality
Food safety is of paramount importance at ShoEi Foods USA. Our customers rightfully demand walnuts that meet the highest quality and food safety standards, and we’ve built our reputation by taking extraordinary measures to fulfill their expectations.
At ShoEi, product integrity involves far more than simply producing a grade. Traditionally, quality or food safety is measured only at the end of the product chain, but we attain superiority by means of continual quality management throughout our entire production sequence, encompassing growers, huller and dryer processes, storage, production, packaging and shipment. Comprehensive quality control and continuous improvement are the essence of our manufacturing philosophy.
ShoEi’s food safety policies far surpass U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards. We have a strong environmental monitoring program through which we have established protocols for continual microbiological assessment of plant operations. That stringent program ensures not only that our facility visually conforms to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines, but also that our plant meets the highest microbiological food safety standards as well.
The ShoEi facility in Olivehurst, California, encompasses the latest and most advanced optical sorting technology for walnut kernels, a packaging operation, and cold storage facilities for preservation of shelled, finished products. No walnut leaves the ShoEi plant unless it meets all of our rigid quality and safety standards.
